José Lobo
José Lobo is SolarReserve’s Vice President of Development, based in Santiago de Chile, responsible for developing utility-scale solar thermal projects with energy storage as well as solar PV projects in Chile and Latin America. Lobo’s efforts have resulted in three fully-developed, environmentally approved solar thermal projects in Chile totaling 1,160 MW.

Lobo has more than 25 years of experience in the power generation industry, including asset management, plant engineering, project management and business development in large hydro power plants, wind generation plants and solar plants.

Prior to joining SolarReserve, José Lobo was responsible for Business Development at E.CL, now Engie Generacion Chile, where he developed a pipeline of 400 MW of solar PV and wind projects in Chile. Prior to E.CL, he was Renewable Projects Director for ENDESA Chile, including Project Director for the Canela II, 60 MW wind power plant, and Renaico, 88 MW wind power plant.

Lobo is also currently a professor of Solar Energy in the Masters in Energy Economics curriculum at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile, and in the Masters in Energy Engineering curriculum at the Universidad Católica de Chile.

José Lobo received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso, Chile. He also has post graduate studies in Business Administration at the Universidad de Chile, and Project Evaluation, at the Universidad Católica de Chile.
